Jeremy Clarkson’s beer and beef pies are hitting pub menus this month. db finds out more about what they contain and where you can try them.
The pies, which will become available in 498 Marston’s pubs across the UK, have been made with Clarkson’s beer – specifically Hawkstone IPA – and also contain slow-cooked British beef in the filling.

The beer and beef pie roll out is part of a limited-time specials offer and are set to boost sales across Marston’s pub menus and marks Hawkstone’s largest pub partnership to date.
Describing the decision to team up with Clarkson’s beer brand, Marston’s director of brand activation Kiran Bains said: “We’re so excited to working with Hawkstone to bring our new take on a pub classic to almost 500 of our pubs across the UK. British beef and Hawkstone IPA are a match made in heaven, and we’ve created a really delicious dish to serve to guests up and down the country, introducing Hawkstone to more customers and giving them a new reason to visit their local. We can’t wait for everyone to try it.”

Hawkstone sales director Andy Cross said: “The more Hawkstone you drink, the more barley we buy from British farmers. That’s why we’re thrilled Marston’s is serving Hawkstone IPA, not just by the bottle but also in a Great British pub classic, in almost 500 pubs nationwide.”
A way to ‘celebrate the farming community’
Cross also advised beer and pie fans to “visit your local Marston’s pub” because that’s where you can “tuck into a pie and help us celebrate the farming community before stocks run out”.
The complete description of the Hawkstone IPA and beef pie states that it features “British diced beef and pulled beef cheek, slow-cooked in a rich Hawkstone IPA gravy with seasonal vegetables and Barber’s Cheddar, all wrapped in buttery shortcrust pastry”.
According to Marston’s, the pie will be “served with seasonal vegetables, extra gravy and a choice of chips or mash”. Plus, bottles of Hawkstone IPA will also be available at participating pubs so that the beer can be paired alongside any pie orders.
