Inside FridgeGuard sits a 1,024Wh battery paired with an 800W rated output and a 1,600W compressor-ready output. That extra headroom exists for one reason: absorbing the startup surge refrigerators draw the instant their compressor kicks on.

Jackery frames that as a deliberate choice: a refrigerator-first backup, not a general power station that happens to work with one.

Switching happens fast. Jackery says a 10ms UPS transfer automatically moves the refrigerator to battery power the moment the grid drops, with no manual step required from the homeowner. The company also claims up to 15 hours of refrigerator backup on the base unit, stretching to as much as 30 hours with an optional expansion battery attached.

Compressor-ready headroom sounds abstract until it’s the difference between a fridge restarting cleanly and one that trips the unit entirely. Jackery pitches the extra wattage as insurance against exactly that failure mode.

A plug-in path instead of an installation project

Setup skips the installation project, Jackery says. Plug FridgeGuard into a wall outlet, then plug the refrigerator into FridgeGuard, and the entire connection is finished in under a minute, well before the next commercial break. No drilling, no electrician, no scheduled appointment.

Mounting flexibility matters here: at 2.6 inches thick and 23 pounds, FridgeGuard can sit on the floor, balance on top of the fridge, or go straight onto the wall, whichever fits the kitchen.

The backup extends beyond the kitchen

Fridge backup isn’t the only job here. Jackery says FridgeGuard can run any essential drawing 800W or less, and it names Wi-Fi routers, lighting, home-office gear, and aquarium systems as examples, according to the announcement. None of that needs the compressor headroom the fridge does. It only needs steady output for hours at a time.

Managing all of it happens through Jackery’s Smart App, which shows battery level, input, output, and estimated runtime at a glance.

Charging gets a scheduling layer of its own: Delay Start and a time-of-use mode. The app can charge FridgeGuard during off-peak hours and let it discharge when rates peak. Jackery frames it as a small utility-bill perk layered on top of the outage protection.

Battery claims and availability

Longevity claims center on LiFePO4 chemistry. Jackery says the platform is designed to retain at least 70% of its capacity after 6,000 charge cycles, a spec the company also ties to its safety record.

Warranty coverage backs that chemistry claim. FridgeGuard ships with a five-year warranty attached. Jackery also lists UL1178, UL1741, and UL1973 among its safety certifications. Between the warranty length and the certification list, the company is leaning hard on durability as a selling point, separate from runtime, rather than on raw specs alone.

Pricing follows Costco’s usual membership split, with members paying $549.99 and nonmembers paying $577.49 to order online through Costco.

Availability stays narrow by design. FridgeGuard is sold exclusively through Costco.com and select warehouse locations rather than Jackery’s standard retail channels. Retail exclusives like this have become more common for power stations, letting Costco offer a distinct SKU while Jackery taps into the warehouse chain’s membership base.

A narrower kind of outage insurance

Whole-house backup was never the goal here. Jackery built FridgeGuard to do one job well: keep the refrigerator running, plus a handful of small essentials, without hauling a portable station through the kitchen every time the power goes out. That focus is also the pitch.
