An old-style cableway built in the sixties.
The cableway starts near Gubbio city center and bring you to the top of Monte Ingino, where the Sant’Ubaldo basilica is. Cabins are indeed open air cages, suitable for up two people, in which you stay standing. Moreover they does not stop at the starting and arrival stations, so you have to jump in and out.
Return ticket costs less than 10 euros and the trip lasts 6 minutes to go from 532 m to 8o3 m.
View is breathtaking and being in a open cage that rocks with the wind while climbing over Gubbio’s rooftops add a little spice to the trip.

Return ticket is around 7 euros (2026 prices) and can be bought directly at cableway station. It is possible also to buy a one way ticket and go back walking.
There are some hiking trails starting from Sant’Ubaldo Basilica; the basilica itself can be visited (it is a religious place so bring some respect when going in). In the surrounding of the mount station there are a couple of bars and restaurants in which you can enjoy a drink ora a meal with the view fo Gubbio and the surroundings from above.
