Here’s what it actually outputs, what the display shows, and whether the street price is worth jumping on now.

The Prime 160W sits at the top of Anker’s wall charger lineup, above the 100W and 120W GaN options that cover most phone and tablet scenarios. What separates it is PD 3.1 Extended Power Range support, the only protocol that actually unlocks 140W delivery over a USB-C connection. Most people spending $149 on a wall charger are doing it because they’ve got a MacBook Pro 16-inch, a gaming laptop, or both, and they’re tired of carrying two bricks. This one’s built to replace all of that.
What the 140W single port actually means for your laptop
Most GaN chargers derate when you add devices. The Anker Prime 160W doesn’t do that on its primary port. Any of the three USB-C ports can deliver a consistent 140W via PD 3.1 without dropping the output when a second or third device connects, which matters if you’re running a 16-inch MacBook Pro under load. Anker claims it can take that laptop from dead to 50% in 25 minutes.
That 140W ceiling also puts it in reach of gaming laptops that accept USB-C charging, which have started pushing past the 100W threshold most travel chargers top out at. If your setup includes a laptop that lists USB-C PD charging in its specs, this charger covers it. It’s also a CES 2026 Innovation Award honoree in the Computer Hardware and Components category, which tracks with its real-world performance. The catch is you’ll need a USB-C cable rated for 140W, and Anker doesn’t include one in the box.
How the 160W splits when you plug in more than one device
Three ports, 160W total. Plug in a 16-inch MacBook Pro, an iPhone, and an 11-inch iPad Pro, and Anker’s PowerIQ 5.0 distributes that 160W budget dynamically between them. Anker’s claim is that all three charge in roughly the same total time as if each had its own original charger, which they shorthand as a 140W + 35W + 35W equivalent. The actual simultaneous draw across all ports is capped at 160W, not 210W.
The power split adjusts automatically based on what’s plugged in, and there’s no designated fast port. All three USB-C ports are identical in capability, so it doesn’t matter which one your laptop goes into. The 160W ceiling applies across the full set of ports whenever more than one device is connected.
What the smart display shows you and whether the Bluetooth app is worth it
The display on the front face is 1.3 inches and shows real-time wattage for each port. You can see at a glance whether your laptop is pulling its expected 140W or throttling, which is useful when you’re troubleshooting a slow charge. The screen also lets you switch output modes directly on the charger without opening an app.
The Bluetooth connection pairs with the Anker app, which Anker calls AnkerSense View. Through the app you can create custom power modes and push firmware updates. For most people the on-device display already covers what you’d check in the app, and Bluetooth pairing is completely optional. The charger works fine without it.
What it costs right now ahead of Prime Day 2026
The Anker Prime 160W has a $149.99 list price. It’s currently $115.99 on Amazon, a 29% discount that’s part of Anker’s pre-Prime Day push ahead of the June 23 start. Its all-time low was $99.99 in November 2025, so there’s still a few dollars of room below today’s price if Prime Day goes deep.
If Anker follows its usual Prime Day pattern, a sharper cut is likely during the four-day event window. That said, pre-Prime Day Anker deals have sold out before the main event in past years, so waiting isn’t risk-free if you need it soon.
How it compares to Apple’s 140W adapter and Anker’s 4-port option
Apple’s 140W USB-C Power Adapter costs $99 and charges exactly one device at full speed. There’s no display, no multi-port capability, and no smart allocation. If you only ever charge a MacBook Pro and nothing else, Apple’s adapter is cheaper and smaller. The moment you want to charge a second device from the same outlet, the Anker Prime 160W covers it without a second brick.
Anker also makes a 140W 4-port non-Prime charger (Model B2697) with its own smart display, currently $64.99 at Amazon down from $89.99. It caps total output at 140W across all ports combined, compared to the Prime 160W’s 160W ceiling. It’s also larger and heavier, so if the compact footprint matters for travel, the Prime 160W is the one to get.
What you don’t get with this charger
No cable in the box. To hit 140W you’ll need a USB-C cable rated for 240W under USB PD 3.1 Extended Power Range, and most cables that ship with laptops or phones don’t qualify. Anker sells a compatible 240W cable separately, so budget for it if you don’t already own one.

There’s also no USB-A port. If you’re still running gear that charges over USB-A, this charger doesn’t cover it without an adapter. For a device at $149.99 list, that gap will matter depending on what’s in your bag. The three USB-C ports are genuinely capable, but USB-A hasn’t disappeared from most people’s kits yet.
