Arc’teryx Hid a Fleece-Lined Slipper Inside its Postour GORE-TEX Winter Boot

While we love hitting the slopes, not enough people talk about the best part of a ski day. We’re talking about the moment the boots come off. Your feet are finally free, and then reality hits. The walk back to the condo is a quarter mile of ice, all with pair of soggy sneakers and socks.

Arc’teryx has decided this problem deserved some real engineering. Enter the Postour Boot.

The Postour is a 2-in-1 system, and the name here is literal; post-tour. This is footwear for everything that happens after the skiing, splitboarding, or shoveling is done.

The outer layer is a tall GORE-TEX overboot with Invisible Fit construction running clear up to the collar, which cinches closed the way the brand’s chalk bags do to lock out deep snow. Coreloft synthetic insulation handles the warmth, and a wraparound band of Endure 360 rubber armors the whole lower half against rocks, ice chunks, and errant ski edges.

Underneath sits a Vibram Arctic Grip outsole, and that’s Vibram’s cold-specific compound engineered to bite into wet ice. The lug pattern was designed to handle snow and soft ground on top of that.

Tug the whole liner out and you’re holding a standalone fleece-lined slipper with its own Coreloft insulation and a grippy TPU outsole, logo-embossed tread and all.

The idea is you can now kick the shell off at the door and cruise around the cabin in comfort.
