About This Everyday Carry

Full-time Cook in Minnesota

“As a cook I literally have a different knife for every occasion. One of them is definitely going through a lot of boxes. But definitely no food prep with my knives. There are blades for cooking and blades that shouldn’t be used for that, since cross contamination is a thing. On any given day I’m packing 4 knives. 3 folders and my ESEE.” — Stephen

Editor’s Note: There’s a ton of gear here to be sure, but it makes sense given the heavy duty tasks working in a kitchen would demand (outside of cooking with them, of course!). I like the use of the leather sheaths and keychain systems to keep your gear consolidated and not take up too much pocket space. Let all that hang off the body. You’ve selected excellent gear within each category too on both ends of the price spectrum. For example, the Parker Jotter is a great value at under $10 for an all-stainless clicky construction, paired with a more premium titanium bolt action pen from a trusted EDC brand. I also like your taste in knives: great choices all around for a general EDC in the Knafs, a slim gent’s knife in the Boker, and a workhorse in the Izula S35VN. Thanks for sharing!
