Christopher Ward’s tongue-in-check C65 Desk Diver was one of our favorite releases of 2024, a fully capable dive watch that openly admitted most owners would never take it deeper than the office water cooler. All 500 pieces sold out in days. So it was only a matter of time before Christopher Ward and Romaric André, the Parisian designer who’s made a career out of defacing perfectly good watches under the seconde/seconde/ banner, ran the play again.

Their fourth collaboration is the C60 Pool Diver, and the target has moved from the cubicle to the all-inclusive resort.

The dial is split into five color-coded zones that prescribe your day like a vacation physician: READ, SUNBATHE (helpfully annotated with a “nice tan / skin damage ratio”), RELAX, FLEX, and finally CONTEMPLATE and RECONSIDER LIFE CHOICES as the sun goes down. Each zone pairs with a matching icon on the white ceramic bezel, right down to a little selfie camera.

The best gag, though, is the date window. It’s been reshaped into a martini glass at 7 o’clock and relabeled “Max Units Per Day.” Book your trip early in the month, is all we’re saying.

Flip it over and the Desk Diver’s etched caseback hero returns, now wearing flip-flops, carrying a mocktail, and strapped to a tank of sunscreen instead of oxygen. “Please, don’t drink and dive” is engraved around the rim.

Even the helium escape valve gets in on it, laser-etched and lacquer-filled with a tiny tropical island. A decompression feature on a watch built for emotional decompression. André knew exactly what he was doing, and it’s awesome.

Strip away all of the comedy and this is still a legitimate C60 Trident Reef: 41mm steel case, 200m of water resistance, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, and a ceramic bezel. The Sellita SW200-1 inside is the dependable Swiss workhorse half the industry runs on, and it’s good for 38 hours of power reserve.

In other words, it’ll handle an actual dive just fine. It just thinks you have better things to do.
