It’s time to say goodbye to one of television’s best shows of the decade. The fifth season of Hulu’s Emmy-winning dramedy The Bear will be its last, which is why it’s our number-one ranked show this week. I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to stop saying, “Yes, chef!”
Elsewhere, one of Netflix’s most ambitious live-action shows returns for a second season. The fantasy show has a strong following due to the beloved animated series it’s based on. Other shows on this list are an HBO comedy from Curb Your Enthusiasm’s creator, a Netflix documentary about the birth of America, and a family show on Apple TV. All five shows can be streamed in the U.S.

Camp Snoopy season 2
The iconic animated character heads to camp
Who doesn’t love Snoopy? As part of the Peanuts gang, the iconic dog has been making kids smile since the 1950s. Where there’s Snoopy, Charlie Brown typically follows with the rest of the crew, including Lucy, Linus, and Sally. This summer, the Peanuts are returning to Camp Spring Lake in Camp Snoopy.
Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts are heading to camp for a summer full of swimming, hiking, and dancing. The gang will encounter challenges along the way, but the Peanuts always manage to find a solution. This show can be enjoyed by the entire family, but little kids will resonate with it the most.
Camp Snoopy season 2 premieres on June 26 on Apple TV.

The American Experiment
Netflix documentary explores America’s origins
As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, several streaming services are running special U.S.-themed programming to celebrate the occasion. The American Experiment, Netflix’s new documentary, examines the birthplace of American democracy and its future in society.
Directed by Brian Knappenberger and executive produced by Tom Hanks, The American Experiment covers many key issues that shaped the country, including the American Revolution, the Constitution, and George Washington’s first presidency. The documentary combines expert interviews with reenactments to honor our history and ponder the future. This documentary is a history buff’s dream.
The American Experiment is now streaming on Netflix.

Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness
Larry David’s return to HBO
In 2024, Larry David wrapped up his 12-season run on Curb Your Enthusiasm. I never thought David would officially retire, but I expected him to take some time off from television. Thankfully, I was wrong. Two years later, David is back on HBO with Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.
Who better to talk about the history of the United States than the co-creator of Seinfeld? Like the Netflix documentary, David will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary by reexamining some of the events that defined the country. David is tackling events like the Boston Tea Party, the Alamo, and Lewis and Clark’s expedition. It’s a David-led show, meaning his dry humor and awkward encounters will be present in every episode. Sign me up for America through the eyes of a genius comedian.
Life, Larry, and the Pursuit of Unhappiness premieres on June 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max.

Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2
The live-action adventure series returns for more action
To a certain generation, Avatar: The Last Airbender is sacred text. The animated Nickelodeon show is beloved by many, which made the disastrous 2010 live-action movie that much more painful. Luckily for those fans, Netflix crafted a much-improved live-action adaptation in 2024, and season 2 is now live.
Aang (Gordon Cormier) and his group are coming off a victory after aiding the Northern Water Tribe in defeating the Fire Nation. Season 2 is all about convincing the Earth King to help defeat the Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). To reach the Earth King, Aang and his group must infiltrate Ba Sing Se. Diehard fans will love the addition of Toph (Miyako) to the cast. This won’t be the last of Aang, as Netflix renewed the show for a third and final season.
Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.

The Bear season 5
Carmy’s last stand
In the second season of The Bear, one of the songs that sets the tone for the first episode is Bruce Hornsby’s “The Show Goes On.” I couldn’t think of a more appropriate song to describe The Bear season 5, which will be the show’s last. Hulu’s Emmy-winning dramedy is calling it quits after five memorable seasons.
Season 5 picks up in the aftermath of the season 4 finale, when Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) decides to quit the food industry and leave the restaurant in the hands of Syd (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and Sugar (Abby Elliott). With the restaurant on the verge of a sale, the chefs will have to put their best foot forward and make every second count one final time. I’m going to miss The Bear, which was arguably the best show on television during its early seasons.
The Bear season 5 is now streaming on Hulu.

What else should I watch?
If you need suggestions on what to watch, then you have come to the right place. Yellowstone fans will be happy to learn that Paramount+’s Dutton Ranch has been renewed for season 2, with two episodes remaining in season 1. Elsewhere, HBO welcomed back House of the Dragon season 3, which kicked off with an explosive season premiere.
