There are those cyclists who won't throw their leg over a saddle in anything but head-to-toe spandex. Great for race day or Sunday morning laps in the park, but not necessarily the most style-conscious option for a ride to work, the store, a date, or just down the river. So it's no secret why we're fans of Levi's handsome, cycling-savvy commuter collection. When it first debuted in 2011, it started a trend of sleek and comfortable technical gear with reflective detailing that both menswear and bike-specific brands quickly followed.

Now Levi's is expanding the ongoing line with apparel that's tough enough to handle the pedaling of cyclists on-the-go, without sacrificing style. This fall's designs include clothes and accessories that put an emphasis on performance, with stronger, more durable fabrics, added stretch, weather-resistant and dirt-repellent treatments, and 3M reflective lining and cuffs. The biggest standout piecces include the two pant styles: the Commuter 541 athletic fit jean and the Commuter 511 Slim Fit Trousers, which have a dressier silhouette. Both styles make room for cyclist-sized quads, feature a higher back rise (no need to worry about showiing cycler's crack anymore), a U-lock holder at the waistband, and reflective fabric.

Another notable design is the new version of our favorite commuting outerwear; the waxed cotton work jacket, which has been revamped with a vent to keep back sweat-stains away, and a dropped hem for increased coverage. The line also includes a trucker jacket, which has a more structured cut. To round out the collection, Levi's has added a pair of Commuter Sneakers with waterproof Neoprene lining and a memory foam footbed, as well as a all-weather backpack with a cool roll-top closure.
