A Tablet Case With Personality
When it comes to trucking around personal tech, your choices include all-purpose bags, classic canvas totes, handsome leather briefcases, and street-smart commuter bags. But most brands overlook the fact that we don't always want to carry around a bag. Sometimes we just want to schlep along one computer or a tablet.
Winter Session, the Denver-based workshop founded by husband and wife duo Roy Katz and Tanya Fleisher, makes thoughtfully designed, durable goods that are handcrafted using domestically sourced, environmentally responsible materials. Among the new winter wares, including a waxed canvas Day Pack and leather-handled Day Bag, we spied a little something extra called the Zip Folio.
Simple and versatile, this generous 12.5-by-8.5-inch flat pouch can hold everyday essentials such as keys, sunglasses, pens, and tech devices, keeping them from rattling around and getting lost in larger bags. The materials – 18-ounce waxed cotton canvas, solid brass zipper, leather pull – keep the folio from seeming fussy or purselike. We suggest investing in a few of them, using one to transport your iPad and another to hold, for instance, passports, currency, maps, and receipts. Luckily, Winter Session sells the folios in three colors (gray, olive, and rust), so you can be sure you'll always grab the right one. [$50, winter-session.com]
