Is She a Diva or a….?

It’s okay to admit it. You didn’t want to like her. She’s not blonde. She’s not a sex kitten with a big chest and injected lips. She’s… adorable and small. She plays dorky characters in movies. But you can’t help it. You like her anyway.

Try not to like Anna Kendrick. She’s cute and witty and actually pretty sharp and ironic. Even she says, “I’m probably, at most, likeable.”  If you haven’t yet, follow her @AnnaKendrick47 on Twitter. There’s a pretty sexy pic of her and some great tweets like, “I can do that. Hold my beer” – My last words, probably. How can you resist?

As a young actress, Kendrick may not have on our radar unless we were watching Broadway. She was nominated for Tony Award for her role as Dinah in “High Society,” and has worked opposite actors even more well-known than Clooney on the live stage.

She was the outcast who saved the day in Pitch Perfect and the girl who falls away and comes back to save the day in Pitch Perfect 2. These are your crib notes if your girlfriend wants you to see these movies. She’s been, thus far, sorely underused as an actress on the big screen, starring in teen oriented films. The one notable exception? Her Best Actress nomination for Supporting Actress for Up in the Air with George Clooney.

IMDB says her movie star status is about to change. Kendrick has upcoming releases with Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, Sam Rockwell, and John Krasinski.

As she “grows up” into more mature movie roles, her unique charm goes with her. Pictures of her online that are glamorous and sexy are equal to the ones that are cute and awkwardly sexy. Some of these feature her in a baby blue bra… and kittens.

Kendrick’s tweets have caught the attention of the Twitterverse and many have been made into “motivational posters” by fans. Some are just plain funny: For someone with such an intense need to be liked, you’d think I would have figured out how to be less of an asshole. Or this one: I’m so humble it’s crazy. I’m like the Kanye West of humility. Is it really that difficult to see why you like her?

Anna Kendrick is the girl you wish you’d known. She’d be the one at the party who is so pretty you can’t stand it, sipping her beer one minute and doing cartwheels off the sofa while telling a dirty joke the next. She makes jeans and a guys’ plaid shirt look sexy. Kendrick is that girl. The one who couldn’t possibly exist but does.

The good news is that she appeals to women as well. They all think she’s cool and wish they were her friend. Know what that means?
